Le Gabriel is located in the Hotel La Reserve, just a step away from the Champs Élysée. The decor is very rich with dark wood and gold accents. The dining room is intimate, with a small number of tables that create a very calm and pleasant atmosphere. Perfect also the table set up with elegant porcelain and cutlery, Le Gabriel is the personification of elegant. Formal as one would expect, but the well trained and sophisticated servers ensure your comfort without feeling like they were even in the room. Having rather limited French I was glad to find a very international team fluent in English.
Le Gabriel is a two Michelin star restaurant with a chef who is not afraid to blend various styles and cultures into his dishes. We opted for the seven course menu and we were blown away: caviar, scallops, mackerel, salmon, artichokes, every plate was thoroughly thought bold and delicious. The seven-course menu is more like an eleven courses as they bring out a “welcome” course (amuse bouche) and few extra treats at the end of the dinner.
This is a formal high-end place and jackets are required for gentlemen even for lunch, however if you forgot yours, they have jackets that can be borrowed. 42 avenue Gabriel – Hôtel La Réserve, Paris – France
